This article will not pamper you. It is unapologetic and to some, it might even feel like a slap in the face. However, if you want to turn your dream into reality, you need to wake up.
Here’s the harsh reality:
One of my goals for this year is to publish a poetry collection. I’ve been writing poetry since my teenage years so I already have a huge pile of possible poems that I could include in the book.
Not saying that all of them are good. …
It is estimated that 800 000 people die by suicide each year. That is one person every 40 seconds. Therefore, it’s no exaggeration to say that suicide is more deadly than homicide.
When you’ve been depressed for a long time, having suicidal thoughts is pretty common. It doesn’t always mean that you want to end your life straight away, just that you feel utterly miserable and don’t know what to do about it.
“But in the end one needs more courage to live than to kill himself.” — Albert Camus
When you think of ending your life, it’s a sign…
A month back I kept seeing 11:11 and 22:22. Whenever I reached for my phone randomly in the morning or evening, it was always 11:11 or 22:22.
At the time I didn’t think much of it. The numbers just looked pretty, symmetrical, clean. I went about my day and pretty much forgot about it. But then, it happened, again and again and again.
I kept seeing the same numbers for 1 or 2 weeks, every single day without fail. I never put an alarm clock before that time. …
Throughout my life, I have chased after many emotionally unavailable guys. They have pulled me close only to push me away again, given me mixed signals, and played games in which I always felt like the loser.
Consequently, I always ended up heartbroken.
I was rejected many times and I always felt like it was my fault. Like I wasn’t good enough for that person.
If I could only be prettier or a bit more confident, maybe a little funnier..then they would want me and everything was going to be amazing.
I always took the blame, not realizing that the…
The house of artists
stands at Comeragh Road
you got a hand for a chair
and ceilings that remind me of a
museum, Renaissance perhaps
Under the creaking floorboards
lies the promise of a newborn
future
and there are too many mirrors
to deny that
I haven’t met someone in a long time
who is that excited about literature
and art and so convinced of it
it almost seemed naive because
loads of people have given up on it
already
It might have given up on him
but never the other way round
I have to say he exactly looks…
Do people really marry each other even if they aren’t in love with their partner?
Do they choose to spend the rest of their lives together, knowing that they will never be head over heels with their spouse?
Up until today, I thought the answer was “No”. However, I’m not too sure about this anymore.
Today I left my apartment to take my dog out and passed ways with my neighbor who was wearing a white dress, a white coat and held a bunch of heart-shaped red balloons in her right hand.
In her left hand, she held a silver…
Sometimes I wonder if putting him
in past tense is progress
or if it‘s hope
knowing deep inside
he won’t come back
1
One should not settle down
because he’s lonely
He was the first to ever lay claim to me
he was the very first to touch me
and to try glue together all the broken pieces
that built me into my mosaic
He said he knew
but I do believe he forgot
how fragile I really was
He told me it’s over
I’ve been too much

We’ve all made bad decisions when it comes to buying.
We’ve all purchased products before that didn’t fulfill our expectations.
Products that weren’t worth our money. And sometimes we truly wish we would have never gotten these things in the first place because returning them and getting a refund can be such a hustle. Especially, if we are dealing with a customer service that is either slow to respond or unfriendly.
This might even lead some of us to give up on the quest of getting our money back. We simply can’t be bothered with this poor treatment any longer.

We met at the airport,
London Heathrow to be more specific.
A couple of days after
I had realized I had to leave.
Not just for a couple of days.
Permanently.
And it almost made me cry.
And here you are
pulling myself into your arms.
Trying to comfort me
but you feel foreign
like a language I haven’t spoken
for years,
my pronunciation is off
and my grammar
all over the place.
You are an aunt who I have
never seen before and who places
a kiss on my cheek.
It stains from her lipstick that is way too…
“Do you love me?”
1 I breathe
2 my heart’s pounding
3 he doesn’t look away but his eyes look different
4 I know his lips won’t smile
5 if he says “Yes” it’s a lie because he has waited too long to say something
“Do you miss me?”
There was a time his eyes were filled with joy
his lips weren’t able to cover his teeth
because that’s how happy I made him
his fingers resting in my neck
kissing me
his answer
his way of saying that
I was stupid for even asking
without doubt
